E6 Guitar Chord

Alternative names: E6 Major, Emaj6, Eadd6, C#m7
E6 Chord

Free printable guitar chord chart...right click on diagram and select 'Print Picture...'

How is the E6 guitar chord contructed? The sixth note of the E major scale is (C#), so an E6 chord will simply be the E major triad (E, G#, B) plus the sixth note (C#). Said differently, an E6 chord is made up of intervals 1 3 5 6, or notes E G# B C#.

This E6 or Emaj6 chord is not the same as the "E6 Power Chord". The E6 Power Chord, not shown here, contains only 2 notes; E (root) and C# (6th note); intervals 1 and 6.
