Epiphone Acoustic Guitar: PR-150 Value Pack

by Guitar Guru
(play-acoustic-guitar.com)

”Great Deal for Beginner’s Guitar”

The Epiphone PR-150 Acoustic Guitar Value Package is an awesome deal for a beginner’s acoustic guitar. Not only do you get a quality instrument, but all the right stuff to start you on your way to becoming a real guitarist.

The PR-150 package comes with an Epiphone acoustic guitar, a gig bag to keep the dust off and humidity out while you’re traveling, a pitch pipe to keep you in tune, a guitar strap, picks, and even a CD-ROM instructional guide to walk you through the ins and outs of learning to play the guitar

At just ~$169 for the whole package you might not expect much out of the guitar that comes included; but for a beginners acoustic guitar it is not a bad option. Built on a dreadnought body, this guitar has a surprisingly loud volume and depth of tone, though the strings do tend to buzz a bit, even when you’re holding them down fully. You may need to experiment with different weights of strings until you find one that reduces the buzzing, but once you’ve balanced them out you’ll find this cheap guitar has a rather sweet sound to it.

It can be hard to choose a guitar when you are first getting started, but if you’re anxious to start playing and have a limited budget, the Epiphone PR-150 Acoustic Guitar Value Package may just be the deal for you.

Epiphone AJ-200S is a Far Better Guitar
by: Anonymous

Epi's AJ200S is a far better guitar and for only $30 more. The odds and ends that come with the $169 PR-150 Value Pack are just eyewash. Picks are cheap. Free lessons are available on line. The gig-bag is only one step up from a garbage bag, and the pitch-pipe is an anachronism in this day of inexpensive electronic tuners. The poorly made straps, which are included, are known to tear cuz they're plastic where they should be leather. I rest my case.

Battle-Axe
by: Graham

If you're looking for a party guitar or one to take to the beach, OK. But for a mere $30 more, there are guitars with solid tops. These produce an infinitely better sound, and that's where MY money would go. Wait till NEXT payday, and spend $200 .
