Guild Guitar: GAD-F20 Concert

by Guitar Guru
(play-acoustic-guitar.com)

”Comfort and Clarity for a Song!”

The Guild GAD-F20 Concert is a small bodied guitar that is on a mission; a mission to bring an awesome tone, volume and projection to those who play it. It’s a dream come true for younger or more slightly built players who can’t handle the depth and width of the dreadnought, but who are looking for an instrument with the same kind of projection and overall sound.

A good guitar review of the GAD-F20 will mention its small concert body; a body which really shouldn’t project as loudly as it does. But when combined with a solid spruce top and a solid mahogany body, this guitar has a crisp clarity that is more rounded and fuller than an all solid mahogany guitar (mahogany top, sides and back).

The small, curvy body of the GAD-F20 is extremely comfortable to play. You can hug it right against your torso without any bulk getting in your way, and the neck rests comfortably, encouraging you to make yourself right at home. While the GAD-F20 is good with either flatpicking or fingerstyle playing, its true colors and subtle undertones come out when fingerstyle playing is used.

Looking as good as it plays, the GAD-F20 has flame maple binding which gives it an eye-catching edge that is quite aesthetically appealing will look as good on stage as it does on the wall. But of course it won’t stay too long either on the wall or in its case as you will want to play it as often as possible.

At just ~$729, the Guild GAD-F20 is a great acoustic guitar for those younger or more slightly built players who are looking for dreadnought-style sound without the bulkiness of a dreadnought body. Or for anyone who appreciates comfort and clarity when combined in an attractive package.

nice for the price NEW
by: Graham

It has been a long time since Guild has made anything that appealed to me. This guitar does. And I am fussy. At this pricepoint, this instrument has few peers.
