The Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack may be just what you need if you are looking to learn how to play guitar. Not only does this all-inclusive guitar package contain a good sounding guitar, but an electronic tuner, a guitar strap, an accessory pouch and even an (albeit cheap, flimsy) gig bag, all for the extremely affordable price of just ~$119.

While it is rare that a guitar in this price range will be praised in guitar reviews, it definitely has its good points. It’s made with a spruce top and agathis back and sides which, while not solid, still make for a fairly crisp sound. One thing that makes the IJV50 a good guitar for beginners is its dreadnought styling that gives it a deep, full-bodied tone that sounds great to play. You will, however, need to use your electronic tuner regularly, for a guitar this inexpensive really doesn’t sound too bad at all when it comes to tone and volume.

Keep in mind however that this guitar does have quite a wide neck which, when combined with the deeper and broader dreadnought body, can make it difficult to handle for smaller musicians or for those who have smaller fingers. The IJV50 also tends to have a bit of a buzz on some of the frets when you play it right out of the box. This downfall however can be corrected by changing out the strings and replacing the nut and bridge pins, thereby reducing the buzzing to an acceptable level.

With all the added features that come with this Ibanez pack, it really is a great deal for those who are just getting started, and will help you to determine if learning to play guitar is something that you are going to want to stick with over the years.
