Ibanez Acoustic Guitar: PF25WC

by Guitar Guru

”Get the Full-Dreadnought Experience Without Breaking the Bank”

The Ibanez PF25WC Acoustic Guitar is a decent quality dreadnought that makes a great starter guitar for those who are looking for the full, deep dreadnought sound without breaking the bank.

This traditionally styled dreadnought guitar is made with a laminate spruce top and mahogany back and sides which give it a warmth and richness that you don’t get from other wood combinations, and the body style of the guitar makes sure that you get a depth and volume that you would not get with other body styles. If you’re looking for an attractive guitar, the wood grains and finish on this model are particularly lovely.

An attention to its body work means that the PF25WC has a strong emphasis on its bass notes. In fact, the bass can sometimes overpower the treble notes, but even if they are not as easily heard, they are still clear and individualized instead of mushing together. This makes the PF25WC a great guitar for accompaniment purposes. While it doesn’t work as well for solo work, it will sound good underscoring other guitars or proving the background for those who are singing around a campfire.

At just ~$199 (including a hardshell case), the PF25WC can technically be classified as a ‘cheap acoustic guitar’ especially when compared to a higher end Taylor or Gibson, but it holds its own for all of that, and will give you a great run for your money, and sound good no matter where you want to play it. So if you want good quality without spending a fortune, then the PF25WC may be just the guitar you are looking for.
