Ibanez Acoustic Guitar: PF30S

by Guitar Guru
(play-acoustic-guitar.com)

”Great Value for Solid-Top Dreadnought”

The Ibanez PF30S PF Series acoustic guitar is a great value for a solid-top guitar, with traditional styling and a full-bodied sound that have you wondering why more people don’t snatch this up, especially those who beginning or intermediate guitarists who are looking for a good quality solid-top for an affordable price.

Built on a dreadnought body, the PF30S is not a small guitar, but has the depth of body and breadth of shoulders that have come to be expected from a dreadnought; a styling that gives it the rich sound and depth of volume that you have every right to expect from a solid-top dreadnought. While the sheer size of the PF30S can be a bit much to handle for younger players or for those players who have smaller hands or a smaller build, for those who can handle the reach, this is a classic sounding guitar and is also quite easy to play.

Made with a solid Engelmann spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the PF30S has a surprisingly rich sound that one would not expect from a guitar in this price range. While it does tend to go out of tune if it is played too aggressively, it produces a deep and rich sound that sustains quite well.

At just ~$199, the PF30S is a great guitar for beginners and a steal when it comes to value. In fact, it is surprising that more guitar reviews have not picked up on this model which stands out in its price range as a good acoustic guitar, especially for those who are just learning to play and want to start on a quality instrument, or for intermediate players who are looking to upgrade to something a little better sounding than their beginning model.
