Seagull Slim Dreadnought QI EQ Natural

Seagull Slim Dreadnought QI EQ Natural, ~$529

Seagull acoustic guitars put this idea into motion after realizing that certain players love the S6 Original but prefer a more traditional feeling nut width. The New S6 Original Slim features a comfortable, slimmer than traditional 1.72" (4,37 cm) nut width. The same nut width as its parlor sized little brother with the big sound, the Seagull Grand. The Slims cream binding also helps differentiate this model from its S6 Original counterpart. The combination of the solid cedar top and wild cherry back & sides gives this guitar a full, warm contoured sound, further accentuated by the comfort of the silver leaf maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and double function truss rod. Another key characteristic to these guitars, as with all Seagull guitars, is the use of genuine lacquer finish, which enables the top to breathe and vibrate freely. This in turn promotes the aging process of the guitar, meaning that your instrument will actually sound better the more it is played over time. The S6 Original Slim keeps with the same Seagull high standards of quality and Musicality.

Coastline series guitars als feature very smooth necks made from silver leaf maple. The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. Seagull Performer Cutaway Flame Maple High Gloss QI Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

Seagull Performer Cutaway Flame Maple High Gloss QI Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural, ~$699

The Seagull Performer QI acoustic-electric guitar features a 3-layer hardwood laminated body and a solid spruce top for a superb blend of rich tones. The guitar also has an integrated set neck joint and, Indian rosewood fretboard and bridge, and a Quantum I pickup for a great plugged-in experience. Compound Curve Top Design The guitar top is the part of the instrument that most affects the sound. It is also the most delicate part of any high quality acoustic guitar. The grade and thickness of the wood used (solid spruce), as well as the bracing structure, have a huge impact on the instrument's sound. The idea of applying an arch or a curve to the top is appealing because the added strength of an arched top should allow for the use of a thinner and more lightly braced top. While this is true, there remains a trade-off in applying a curve to the entire top. The most active part of the top is the area centered on the bridge. Applying a curve to this part of the top restricts movement resulting in a loss of dynamic range. On the other hand, the area of the top above the sound hole moves minimally but is problematic because it tends to sink if the guitar dries out even slightly. This tendency is also encouraged by downward pressure from the fingerboard resting on top of it. The solution is a top that has a compound curve. In the Seagull Performer's design the top is arched slightly in the area above the sound hole and levels out in the area around the bridge. The compound curve top produces excellent stability in the upper part of the guitar top and the power and projection made possible by leaving the top flat below the sound hole flat. With the weak area above the sound hole stabilized, it is possible to make the rest of the top even more active with a new bracing design that allows unprecedented control over the top vibration. The bracing for the Seagull Performer Cutaway Flame Maple High-Gloss QI Guitar is quarter-sawn spruce, scalloped and carved to conform exactly to the curvature of the tops.

This is a crucial point in both the sound of the Maritime guitar and its ability to age—a thick finish muffles a guitar's vibration and blocks aging.Godin QI Electronics The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source pickup system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy-to-use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems. The Godin Q1 also includes a built-in high quality digital chromatic tuner with LED display. Body style Slightly smaller than a typical Dreadnought guitar, the Maritime SWS Rosewood SG Acoustic Guitar is narrower in the upper bout. This shape discourages unwanted boominess in the sound and is one of the factors that results in Seagulls being such excellent recording guitars.Select Pressure Tested Solid Tops A guitar produces sound as a result of the vibration of its strings. What's not so obvious is the role that the guitar top plays in amplifying these vibrations. In fact, the vibration of the top is the most important factor in a guitar's sound. Solid tonewood top guitars offer richer sound and wider dynamic range (they play better at both soft and loud volume levels). The most interesting thing about a solid top guitar is that it will actually sound better over time. All Seagull guitars are made with select pressure-tested solid tops. Each solid top is made from a single layer of Spruce or Cedar and is pressure tested to ensure its highest level of rigidity and stiffness along with maximum harmonic vibration. The extraordinary wood used in Seagull guitars comes from trees that are hundreds of years old. The tight, straight grain in this wood produces a unique combination of strength and flexibility. The top is strong enough—in the direction of the grain—to withstand the pull of the strings, while at the same time it's flexible enough—across the grain—to vibrate freely. The perfect neck angle Neck angle has a tremendous effect on guitar tone. The Seagull re-design served as the impetus for several refinements to Godin's neck matching technology. Bodies and necks are now matched with incredible precision and the new com
