Seagull Guitars: Coastline Series S6 Dreadnought

by Guitar Guru
(play-acoustic-guitar.com)

”Awesome Sound at Bargain Price”

The Seagull S6 Dreadnought will have fans of the original Seagull S6 smiling as they bask in this beauty’s deep woody tone. This guitar’s dreadnought-style body and solid spruce top are designed to produce an awesome tone that will keep you playing for hours.

Being a Dreadnought, the Seagull S6 has a deeper body; wider across the top than other guitars. This is why it is able to produce such an incredible volume, and produce a tone that lends itself very well to picking. Luckily, the S6 Dreadnought comes with a pickguard to keep its rich finish from being damaged. However, due to the size of the Dreadnought, this style may not be manageable for all body types.

While the S6 Dreadnought provides a beautiful sound, to get the deep, rich, woody tone that this lovely piece is capable of, you may need to do some adjusting. Specifically, you may need to replace the factory saddle and bridge pins in order to get the best tone.

But with a little tweaking, this beautiful piece will provide you with years of play at less than $500, a bargain no matter what way you look at it.

Tweak!! NEW
by: Elston Graubart

Changing the bridge saddle on one of these proved expensive and made no noticeable difference. Lower the action a tad, put on Elixirs and install ebony bridge pins, but don't waste your money on a bone nut or saddle.
