The Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar is definitely an option if you are looking for an affordable guitar for beginners.

The classic good looks of the F335 combine with a surprisingly full sound to make for an instrument that will do everything you need it to as you learn the basics of guitar playing. And at ~$149, you won’t be kicking yourself over having spent too much before you were certain that you wanted to continue learning.

But you’ll want to keep playing the F335. The volume alone is impressive, especially for an instrument in this price range. Built on a dreadnought body, the F335 has the deep body and broad shoulders that are classic features of the dreadnought and which contribute to its full sound and inspiring volume.

One drawback of the F335 is its laminate spruce top and Meranti laminate back and sides. This makes for a pretty guitar, but it would hold its tuning much better if it were a solid top. As it is, be prepared to re-tune this baby at least once per playing session. This should not be too much of a problem for those who are just learning to play, though experienced guitarists may find it a bit annoying.
