The Yamaha FG720S Acoustic Guitar is a surprisingly high quality instrument for a stunningly low price.

Built on a dreadnought body, the FG720S has a depth and volume to it that only the broad shoulders and thick body of a dreadnought can give. Its solid Sitka spruce top has a light, flexible bracing that, when attached to its Nato back and sides, gives the FG720S a rich resonance that other solid tops in this price range will be hard to beat.

An interesting feature of the FG720S is its coloring. The reddish sunburst puts one in mind of the Fender California Series Sonoran, which is an acoustic electric and costs about $50 more. Believe it or not, the Yamaha FG720S actually sounds better than the Sonoran and it’s a pure acoustic guitar which means it has the purity of sound that only a 100% acoustic guitar can provide.

For just ~$279 the Yamaha FG720S is quite affordable and provides both the tone and looks of a much more expensive guitar.
