Yamaha Acoustic Guitars: GigMaker Deluxe Pack

by Guitar Guru
(play-acoustic-guitar.com)

”Solid Top Beginner Acoustic Guitar Pack”

The Yamaha GigMaker Deluxe Acoustic Guitar Pack is a solid choice if you are looking for a good quality beginner’s acoustic guitar that won’t break the bank.

Built on the Yamaha FD01S body, this acoustic guitar has a solid spruce top and comes with everything you could possibly need to get started playing the guitar including; a gig bag, a digital tuner, a guitar strap, extra strings, picks and even a instructional DVD that will take you step by step through the basics of learning to play the guitar.

At just ~$199 the Yamaha GigMaker Deluxe Pack is unusual in that it comes with a solid top guitar as well as all the assorted add-ins. The guitar has an unusually good tone and sustain for this price range with very little string buzzing. What little there is can be quickly remedied through the use of slightly heavier strings. But even without the change in strings, the buzzing is barely perceptible.

But, buyers beware… the gig bag is extremely cheap and doesn’t have space to hold any accessories. The strap is also flimsy and breaks easily. Lastly, the DVD is disappointing – only teaching 3 chords and how to change guitar strings. Spend an extra ~$100 and buy yourself a real quality guitar, such as the Epiphone Dove. While it doesn’t have all the extras of the Yamaha guitar pack, you’ll be starting with a real quality instrument.

Still committed to the ~$199 price point? You really can’t beat the price of the Yamaha GigMaker Deluxe Pack, especially when you are purchasing a solid-top guitar. And not only do you get a solid-top guitar but all the extras as well. So kick off your shoes, sit back, and enjoy your solid choice for a beginner’s acoustic guitar.
