”Acoustic-Electric that Looks as Good as it Sounds”

The APX700II Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar offers the player the best of both worlds; the quality of a well-built acoustic guitar and top-of-the-line electronics that combine to give you an instrument that is extremely versatile.

Just think, with a comfortable thin-line body and a slim neck, the APX700II is a joy to play and produces well-rounded sound that gives you brightly clear tones, and while its bass projection leaves a bit to be desired. Regardless of whether you use the A.R.T preamp in order to project the sound of your guitar in any performance setting, or whether you choose to play the APX700II as an acoustic model, you get a full-bodied sound that is pleasantly surprising given the price.

At just ~$499 the APX700II is a rare breed; an affordable acoustic electric guitar that sounds as great as it looks. Consider the use of Acoustic Resonance Transducer technology (A.R.T.) which is used to pick up the pure acoustic sounds of your instrument and ensure that there is enough damping to keep excessive vibrations from causing distortions to the sound. The APX700II also uses the System 64 preamp system which is powered by AA batteries in order to help improve your guitar’s sound quality.

And if you seek to make sure that your instrument continues to perform admirably, you’ll want to protect your instrument with a quality hardshell case. Thus, consider the
Gator GC-APX Deluxe ABs Acoustic-Electric Guitar Case
which is only an additional $99 and will fit your Yamaha perfectly.

While not as glamorous as the
Taylor Koa Series K24ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar
, the APX700II will give you a warmer tone with its Eastern Mahogany body and spruce top, though it can’t compete with the overall richness of the Taylor. Of course the cost of the Taylor (~$3,999) is rather steep, so if you’re looking for an awesome cutaway electric acoustic that is within your price range and will give you years of service, then the Yamaha APX700II may be just what you are looking for.

Yam it up!!

Not a bad starter axe. Yamaha makes some fine instruments. I do think, however that placing a $500 Yamaha beside a $4000 Taylor is an unfair comparison.
