Alvarez Guitars: AD511SB

by Guitar Guru
(play-acoustic-guitar.com)

“Jazzy Guitar You Will Fall In Love With”

The Alvarez AD511SB Artist Series acoustic guitar has a rich, woody tone that totally compliments its stunning body pattern that and gives this guitar a jazz era flavor that will put you in mind of the music of days gone by.

Just think, for a mere ~$559 you get a guitar with an Indian Rosewood body and a solid spruce top. The solid top which gives this instrument a richer sound than you would find with a laminated top is finished with an intriguing sunburst pattern finish that is complemented by white pearl body binding and rosette. This provides the AD511SB with an eye catching contrast that will be as stunning on you wall as it will on stage.

Built on a dreadnought body, the AD511SB is broad across the shoulders and has a deep body. This makes for a great sounding guitar; one that is rich in tone and that also has an incredible volume, resonance and projection which are all reasons that dreadnoughts are one of the most popular guitar models for acoustic guitars for beginners and professionals alike. Being a full-sized dreadnought, however, this model can be difficult to handle for smaller or younger players.

While you can get a completely solid wood guitar for $100 less with the
Alvarez MSD610
, you can also get a Taylor 110 for just $40 more. Mind you the Taylor doesn’t have the cool sunburst pattern, but it does have an awesome tonal quality that is even richer than the MD610 solid body guitar.

But if you are looking for stunning visual appeal as well as a richly traditional sound, then the Alvarez AD511SB is definitely the guitar for you. Plus, it’s one that you will not only enjoy playing but that will serve you well both on stage and off, for years to come.

Hi-competition Pricepoint.... NEW
by: Graham

As good as this guitar may be, at this pricepoint, it faces some daunting competition. Side by side, this guitar compares nicely in LOOKS...but has to contend with the likes of Seagull in the SOUND department. An entry-level S-6 costs less and sounds every bit as good or better. In the end, buy the best that you like and can afford. Solid tops are 'it'!!!
