Washburn Acoustic Guitars: Rover Travel

by Guitar Guru
(play-acoustic-guitar.com)

”A Rover to Wander With”

The Washburn Rover is perfect for the guitarist on the go! Small enough to fit into overhead compartments on airplanes, the Rover is a full-scaled guitar that just happens to be on the small side. This is perfect for anyone who wants to be able to make some music without adding too much extra weight to their luggage.

A great acoustic guitar, the Rover has a solid spruce top and a mahogany body and neck that give it a full, woody tone that can be surprisingly loud for an instrument this small. At ~$159 (including case, instructional CD, 3 picks and a strap) the Rover is also a relatively cheap acoustic guitar whose price belies its very ‘guitar-ish’ sound. It also comes in a number of colors (your choice!) so you can personalize it to match your luggage – or even your backpack! Color options for this travel acoustic guitar include a blue guitar, red guitar, black guitar and natural guitar.

The Rover is surprising in more ways than just its sound. This little number also keeps its tuning like a champ. Even when it is aggressively played or subjected to late nights around the campfire it may get a little ‘tinny’ sounding unless you adjust the string weight, but it won’t go out of tune. All in all, a fine little travel guitar for the guitarist on the go.

Nice!

Knowing Washburn as I do, I think I'd like one of these. It has three things going for it right out of the box! It's a Washburn...it has a solid spruce top....and it's affordable!
