How is the B6 guitar chord contructed? The sixth note of the B major scale is (G#), so a B6 chord will simply be the B major triad (B, D#, F#) plus the sixth note (G#). Said differently, a B6 chord is made up of intervals 1 3 5 6, or notes B D# F# G#.

This B6 or Bmaj6 chord is not the same as the "B6 Power Chord". The B6 Power Chord, not shown here, contains only 2 notes; B (root) and G# (6th note); intervals 1 and 6.
