Breedlove Guitars: Focus

”Concert Guitar with Both Sound & Class”

The Breedlove Focus Acoustic Guitar is one of those dream guitars; a cross of old fashioned design and up-to-the-minute technology that guitar reviews agree will give you a guitar you’ll be proud to play for years to come.

Imagine a solid Sitka spruce top and a solid rosewood back which, when combined with a concert style body give you a guitar that not only sounds awesome but is easy to play and manage as well. This makes it a great choice for those who have trouble managing the deeper bodied dreadnoughts.

In fact, this is such a powerful sounding guitar that you will have absolutely no problem being heard over any crowd, whether you are playing solo or in a group. And it’s sweet woody tone will leave you nostalgic for the days when every guitar was made with this much attention to detail.

Even though the Focus has a deep body (which is great for projection and volume), its curvy shape makes for a comfortable fit and the narrow, spoked abalone rosette lends a touch of elegance that might otherwise leave the Focus looking rather plain.

But it won’t sound plain! And while the Focus lends itself best to finger picking, it can handle flat picking as well with hardly a hitch.
If the Focus’s ~$2,999 price tag is a bit much to swallow however, and if you would prefer electronics, you can get a similar tone from the Breedlove Cascade C25/Cre Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar
which can be had for $1,299 and which uses solid Western Red Cedar for its top as well as having solid mahogany back and sides.

Or, compare the Taylor 2012 812Ce Rosewood Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar to the Breedlove.

If you choose the Focus, however, you also get an awesome Breedlove Logo case at no extra charge, which is a good way to protect your new purchase.

Three Grand 2 The Sequel NEW
by: Graham

Nice guitar. It needs to be noted, however, that this instrument has NO PICKGUARD. It may SOUND good when flat-picked, but to do so is foolhardy in the extreme. This is a finger-picker's axe. If you flat-pick, get a guitar that's built with a pickguard.
