”Value Guitar with Curvaceous Grand Concert Body “The Ibanez PC25WC PF Series Acoustic Guitar is an incredible value for a pure acoustic guitar. With a surprisingly rich sound and full volume, this curvaceous little number may very well steal your heart. It’s not often that cheap acoustic guitars will get good guitar reviews, but this one deserves some attention and well-deserved praise.
With a laminated spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the PC25WC should not sound as good as it does, but its tone is surprisingly clear and without any pretensions. While it does not hold its tune particularly well, it will last for at least an hour without having to be re-tuned unless you get into some seriously aggressive picking or strumming, in which case you may need to tune it more often. It also does not project as well as some of the higher-end guitars, but for what it does, it does it very well.
Built on a Grand Concert body, the PC25WC produces a rich, full sound without the annoyance of having to wrap your arms around a big bodied Jumbo or Dreadnought which can simply be too much for younger or smaller players. In addition, its curvy shape fits comfortably on your knee so you can cuddle it close. She’s pretty too, with a silhouette that is pleasing to the eye and a high-gloss finish that doesn’t distract from her clarity of tone.
While you really can’t compare her to the top-of-the line Gibsons or Martins when it comes to full-bodied richness, the Ibanez PC25WC very definitely holds her own when it comes to tone and volume, especially when you consider that she only costs ~$199
(including hardshell case), an incredible value for an acoustic guitar no matter what the brand name.
